General Ohe! questions

What is Ohe!?
Ohe! is a social application that knows where in the world you are and opens a door of wonderful opportunities like showing interesting people around you - enabling you to find, connect and share with the rest of the world. It is like an extrasensory perception for your mobile phone.
What is your ultimate goal?
To save the Earth from the scum of the universe... by providing everyone the power of Ohe! and some great user experience on mobile... well sort of.
Who are the guys behind Ohe!?
We are ordinary men without the black suits but a pair of good mobiles.
Then what is Imere?
Imere is the technology that provides extrasensory perception to mobile phones. For now we've borrowed it from them.
Is it really Free? And why?
Yes, Ohe! stays completely free until we find a good enough reason not to (which is very unlikely). So, enjoy the experience.

How does Ohe! work?

So will I be bombarded with Advertisements?
Well, we will try not to do that. Unless the advertisers pay us a ton of money.
Why do I need to install Ohe! on my mobile?
As your body needs brain to be inside your head, Ohe! needs to be inside the mobile to work effectively. Scientists are studying Ohe! in laboratories, but we aren't sure about any positive news on this one.
So how does this really work?
Ohe! once inside your mobile phone uses its sixth sense to exactly find out where you are. Besides this it also uses cell triangulation, Wi-Fi access and GPS as optional accuracy strengthening techniques.
Does that mean I should have GPS on my phone?
No, didn't you read our goal? You don't need any scum of the universe.

Usage, Supporting Phones...

Do I need to pay to for the Internet?
You may do so. But we assure you the bills will be of negligible amount. We highly recommend paying your bills on time though.
How much Internet bandwidth will Ohe! use?
It actually depends on usage of the application. Typically, the average usage will be under 5 MB per month. If you manage to get a really large usage bill please send it to us and we will put it on our hall of fame.
Which phones do you support?
We currently support hundreds of different models, including Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, Sony Ericson, Blackberry etc. Just point your browser to http://m.ohe.im and it will tell you if we support your phone.
Do I need anything additional?
Apart from Ohe! and an internet connection, we suggest some good pair of sneakers. You may need to go a long way. Other accessories are optional.
But what about my phone? When will you support it?
We just started... but drop in a line with your phone model and we will keep you posted as soon as we have it ready for you.

Chat & Messaging

How do I start a chat?
Either you click on the person you need to chat with or just shout out their name loudly, probably they're pretty nearby.
How do I update my status messages?
You may click on yourself. Really... that is the easiest way.
Which social networking services do you support?
We currently support Twitter, Facebook and Orkut. If that isn't enough, just drop us a line.
How do I remove my automatic updates to Twitter?
That's a shame. But yeah we thought of you while nurturing Ohe! and you can easily do so from the Options>Manage Services menu.
My chat is not connecting, why is that?
Either the other person has declined your chat or blocked you. What did you do?
How do I unblock a person I blocked in chat?
You can't. Think before you block them as you cannot undo this for now.

Security & Privacy

I am really worried about privacy. How does Ohe! tackle it?
Privacy is a serious affair with us. You have an easy option to completely make yourself invisible to the public. Additionally, you may select who sees and connects with you when you are open in the public.
Can I use Ohe! only between friends and family?
Yes, you can use Ohe! just to spy on your girlfriend.
Some may be stalking me, what do I do?
This may happen if you are famous or good looking. We request you to contact us with details and we will take good care of you.
Do you check the background of all Ohe! users?
Not really. But generally people are good. To avoid risks, we advise you to be bit careful before you meet strangers through Ohe!

Location Accuracy, Updates, Feedback etc.

How accurate is my location?
That depends on the mood of Ohe! But most of the time you may be just off by 20 meters.
How can I correct and improve my location?
You can teach Ohe! by correcting your location. Once taught Ohe! remembers it for life. To do this there is an option called correct location and once selected just move your cursor to the location you prefer and tap the screen.
What are the keyboard shortcuts?
For phones with keypad: 1 is to zoom out, 3 is for zooming in, 5 is to switch between maps, and 7 is for My Ohe!
Where do I report any error or feedback?
You can report it to your local council or write to support@ohe.im.
I forgot my password, what do I do?
Click on the Forgot Password link and we will send you an SMS to recover your password. In fact we promise the only thing we will send from Ohe! to you is password recovery messages. So keep your phone number updated.
My maps are not loading, what can I do?
Typically when the maps are in hibernation this happens. But other reasons include a slow GPRS connection to the internet. Try switching to a better connection like Wi-Fi or try from another location.
What about application updates?
We will keep you informed on newer updates, so that with a click you can update your Ohe! and get fresh brains for your phone.
How do I remove Ohe! from my phone?
If you ever feel that your phone got too much brain because of Ohe!, you can make it dumb again by going to your application folder and selecting delete/uninstall.
